Nimmo Insurance Agency is a Three-generation Family Business

Nimmo Insurance Agency was started in 1937 by John C Nimmo.  In 1958, John moved the business from his home in Charity to the square in Buffalo.  In 1962, John’s son, Doyle Nimmo, joined the family business. In 1970, Doyle officially took over the agency, and John worked part-time alongside his son.

In 1994, Doyle’s daughter, Devona, joined the agency after graduating from college.  Doyle and Devona worked alongside each other until Doyle passed away in the fall of 2021.  Since that time, Devona has continued the family business and is proud to keep the family tradition going strong.

Nimmo Insurance is an agency that takes pride in the reputation they have worked so diligently to build through the years.  Nimmo Insurance is proud to be able to offer the best coverage and value for a wide variety of clients with various personal and business needs.

Nimmo Insurance is an independent agency with the unique ability to develop relationships with highly rated insurance companies.  This, in turn, gives them the flexibility in offering tailored packages to meet each client’s very specific needs.  Their commitment to service is the heart of Nimmo’s longstanding success, as well as the success of all the families and businesses they insure.

Nimmo Insurance is proud to have three licensed full-time agents, Devona Allen, Leslie Haney, and Akia Hargis, and one part-time employee, Bonnie Tonti.  

Devona has worked with personal lines for 30 years, but has recently started taking care of the commercial lines within the agency. Leslie has been in the agency for 21 years and specializes in personal lines, along with life and health insurance.  Akia has been with the agency for 3 years and specializes in personal lines.  Bonnie works part-time as our receptionist and has worked in the agency for 18 years.
