Dallas County Recorder's Office Offering Free Service to Property Owners

In case you missed the June Chamber Meeting -

Our Dallas County Recorder of Deeds, Kami Miller, shared a new resource that everyone needs to be aware of. Did you know that someone could steal your home and property without your knowledge? Modern technology makes Identity theft and now property theft so much easier. Don't let it happen to you!

The Dallas County Recorder's Office offers a free service available to you. This service allows you to be swiftly notified when a document in your name is filed in the Dallas County Recorder's Office. Although this service will not prevent fraudulent filings, the service will ensure you are notified timely if document fraud or seller identity fraud is committed in your name, allowing you to act fast. Most likely, a recording under your name is for a legitimate business purpose, but sign up now to be alerted to every recording that falls in your preselected parameters to stay in the know. Sign up as many names as you would like!

Property owners in Dallas County can register with iCounty to be aware of any records filed with the Recorder's office in their name. Legitimate or not, you can have a heads up if there is a filing recorded in your name at the Dallas County Recorder's office.

The process is simple, just go to deedwatch.com and follow the steps

If you have any questions, contact Kami Miller, Dallas County Recorder of Deeds.
