News from the Missouri Chamber of Commerce and Industry - Missouri Chamber Federation ~ Amendment 6
What employers need to know about Amendment 6
On Nov. 3, Missouri voters will consider Amendment 6 – a ballot measure with serious consequences for the business community.
WHAT DOES AMENDMENT 6 DO?
Amendment 6 would add constitutional protections for Missouri’s initiative petition process and greatly restrict legislators’ ability to change any policies passed through this process, even when they have unintended consequences that harm employers and workers.
WHAT DOES IT MEAN FOR EMPLOYERS?
Missouri businesses need a stable, predictable environment to invest, expand, and create jobs. Amendment 6 would make Missouri’s policymaking process less flexible and create greater uncertainty for employers.
