Dallas County R-1 School District 2026-2027 School Calendar

The Dallas County R-1 School District has released information regarding the 2026-2027 school year.

Beginning this year, DCR-1 will move to a four-day school week, with no classes held on Mondays. One Monday each month will be designated as a Professional Development/Work Day for teachers and staff. The weeks leading up to Thanksgiving Break and Christmas Break will follow a five-day schedule.

To allow flexibility during the winter months, eight potential inclement weather make-up days have been built into the calendar, each scheduled on a Monday if needed.

The first day of school will be Tuesday, August 25.

Graduation is scheduled for May 21, and the last day of school will be May 25. Summer School will take place June 2–20.

Student registration opens on August 1st. 

Families that are new to the district can access the online enrollment forms for new families in the Student Registration section found on the district website at https://www.bisonpride.org/registration. Information will be updated on August 1st.

Free and Reduced Meal applications are available for completion beginning August 1st in the Infinite Campus Parent Portal.

Returning families will log into the Infinite Campus Parent Portal and access the Annual Registration area to complete the annual registration forms for their family. Registration is required annually to update household contact information and annual district notifications/agreements. The district asks that you log into your Infinite Campus parent portal to verify that all your students are displaying.
